Possession Policies
Ace Mud School believes that the safety and wellbeing of students, faculty, staff, and visitors is of all importance. In accordance with this belief the following possession policies have been adopted.
1) Possession of a weapon is prohibited in class facilities and on class grounds. Violation of this policy will result in immediate expulsion from Ace Mud School. *A "weapon" is defined as any instrument that has been designed or modified to produce serious bodily injury or death. The term "weapon" shall include, but not be limited to; knifes of any shape and size, firearms, metallic knuckles, and pellet guns.
2) Possession of alcohol, non-prescription drugs, and any controlled substance (as defined by the U.S. federal government) is prohibited in class facilities and on class grounds. Violation of this policy will result in immediate expulsion from Ace Mud School. Further, student intoxication from use of the above named substances will result in dismissal from class on the first offense and expulsion on the second offense.
3) Possession of stolen property is prohibited while enrolled in Ace Mud School. Violation of this policy will result in expulsion and prosecution if said property is found to rightfully belong to staff, faculty, or to Ace Mud School.
*Ace Mud School is not responsible in any way for damage to or loss of any personal property that a student may bring to class or on class grounds. This includes but is not limited to, losses due to theft, damage, or car accident. Students are recommended to bring only what they need to class, remembering that all necessary study materials will be supplied by Ace Mud School.
Disruptive Behavior Policy
Disruptive behavior is behavior that Ace Mud School regards as speech or action which;
1) is disrespectful, offensive, and/or threatening,
2) interferes with the learning activities of other students,
3) impedes the delivery of course information, and/or
4) has a negative impact in any learning environment including; staff offices, labs, and lectures.
In an effort to minimize disruptive behavior, students who enroll in Ace Mud School agree to refrain from speech or action which can be classified as disruptive behavior as defined above. Failure to do so will lead to documentation, dismissal from class, and, in extreme cases, expulsion.
Recording Policy
No recording devices of any kind may be used in Ace Mud School classes or offices either during class hours or outside of class hours. This policy is all inclusive unless written permission is obtained from a class instructor prior to said recording. Students found in violation of this policy will be dismissed from class on each offense and will have to make up missed class work according to instructors' availability. Also, unless otherwise noted, Ace Mud School's core curriculum does not include a rig site visitation.
Enrollment Policy
Ace Mud School reserves the right to drop any student from any course at any time prior to their course start date. If our administration has optioned to drop you from a class that you were successfully enrolled in, then, and only then, will Ace Mud School refund your registration fee. In no other circumstances will a registration fee be refunded. Please note that this policy has not yet been exercised and that we do not anticipate having to exercise this policy in the future.
Employment Policy
Regardless of industry demand, Ace Mud School, including its employees and affiliates, cannot guarantee employment after the successful completion of course requirements. Additionally, please note that our core curriculum does not include a rig site visitation. Further, after completing our course, students do not become "state registered engineers," as our certificate is not equivalent to a degree in engineering. The term "Mud Engineer" functions as a nickname in the drilling industry and cannot be used as a formal title in the U.S. If you choose to call yourself a "Mud Engineer" after completing our course Ace Mud School will not be held liable for any damages.
